The TurboTail will make your guitar last longer by transferring the string tension from the fragile soundboard onto the tail block. This frees the soundboard from fighting against the tremendous tension from the guitar strings.

Most significantly, this transfer of tension also changes the way guitars can be made.

Transferring the string tension from the fragile soundboard onto the tail block makes the acoustic guitar more efficient.

Currently, guitars are only 5% efficient. That is, just 5 percent of the vibrational energy of the strings actually arrives at our ears in the form of sound. This means 95 percent of a guitar's vibrations are used up as heat friction or are absorbed into the materials of the guitar or the player’s body.   

The guitar's volume and sustain will be more dramatic on guitars with lighter bracing.

Wire Holder Length Options

You can install the TurboTail with either 2" or 3"  wire holders.

Most guitars look good with the 3” size.  We recommend the 2" wire holders for travel and other smaller guitars. It is purely a matter of aesthetics; both sizes function identically.

Materials

The TurboTail is made of solid cast zinc and bright chrome plated for durability and to match most guitars’ standard hardware. 

Weight

 Ultra-light:  The TurboTail weighs a mere 1.2 oz (34 grams) with the 2" wire holders.

TurboTail weighs only 1.4 oz (41 grams) with the 3" wire holders. 

Length

The fully assembled length is 3" (with  2" wire holders) or 4" (with  2" wire holders).
